Jason Ede

Poor little Nicky is upset

zombie-hager

Nicky Hager really is a little weasel. He’s now whinged to the Department of Internal Affairs over the data release of phone records between me and Jason Ede.

He seems to be making a big fuss over the minutes of each call.

I received this email earlier today:

From: Katrina Taylor @ DIA
To: Cam SlaterRE: Information being released to Nicky Hager

Dear Mr Slater,

Mr Hager has contacted the Department and pointed out that we did not include in the information we sent to him the time of the calls and text messages, which was one of the details he had requested.

Time data was actually prepared for release to Mr Hager however an oversight on our part meant that it was not included in the information that was sent to him, or in the data sent to you.

Please find attached an updated table with the time data included.

I apologise for this oversight. The Department will be providing an updated appendix to Mr Hager next week.

Kind regards,

Katrina

Hager still trying to re-litigate Dirty Politics with OIA requests

On Monday I was emailed by the Department of Internal Affairs informing me that they were about to release the data attached at the bottom of this post to Nicky Hager. I didn’t even know that he had asked for it or that he had appealed the rejection of the release to the ?Ombudsman. The data shows calls and texts between Jason Ede and me between?January to August 2011 when Jason worked for Ministerial Services.

If you look at the data there are a number of one-minute calls which would be calls that resulted in no answer or went to voicemails. In total, it shows 106 communications over eight months.

Remember that Nicky Hager’s book made the contention that both David Farrar and I were conduits for the National party, in the pocket of the PM’s department being continually fed information. As with most of his book the suppositions are horseshit, and now, thanks to Nicky Hager’s own OIA requests we know his suppositions are horseshit. Perhaps Hager was thinking the National party operates like the Labour party does, and his little band of helpers who helped pore over the hacked data like Matt McCarten, Martyn Bradbury and Lynn Prentice related their own experiences thereby giving Nicky Hager the erroneous idea that we were Jason Ede’s bitches.

Let’s look at the data. Over eight months there are 57 texts and 49 phone calls. That is an average of seven text messages a month and six phone calls a month. The average duration of phone calls is just six minutes and ten seconds. Hardly the massive conspiracy that Hager made out it was in his book based on illegally obtained emails, messages and chats. ? Another NewstalkZB staffer goes feral

There seems to be a cancer eating away at NewstalkZB…one of a lack of courage too, because Rachel Smalley and ?now James Robins are both giving me a good ?kicking.

You have to wonder if an edict has gone out from NZME.

But neither of them have the courage to say these sorts of things to my face…like many in the media they are spineless cowards.

James Robins goes on a defamatory rant…it really is quite funny. Dallas Gurney will be loving the ratings and traffic that a stoush?with me brings.

The Labour Party?s new leader Andrew Little may believe that the Prime Minister should ?stand up, take responsibility?apologise? and ?move on?. But there?s little chance of turning away from an ever-increasing barrage of evidence against the Government?s deeply disgusting, disturbing, and treacherous actions.

Inspector General Cheryl Gwyn?s inquiry sought to uncover allegations made against Warren Tucker (former head of the Security Intelligence Service), staffers in the Prime Minister?s office (like black-ops man Jason Ede), and Cameron Slater (a ?toxic? hatemonger and terminal ?reprobate? blogger) prior to the 2011 Election.

What?disgusting, disturbing, and treacherous actions….this is politics you numpty.

As for calling me a toxic hatemonger, have you been swallowing the seed of Martyn Martin Bradbury? I bet Larry Williams and Leighton Smith don’t agree with you…or even your own boss.

Then-Labour leader Phil Goff, mistakenly convinced that he hadn’t received an intelligence briefing about the actions of a few Israelis after the Christchurch earthquake, found himself under attack not during Question Time or from his enemies during a media stand-up but from the fly-blown pages of a deranged blog.

Released on Tuesday, Gwyn?s report entirely confirms (as if Nicky Hager?s claims needed more affirmation) that Slater received a tip-off about Goff?s folly, was coached through making an OIA request by Key?s staffer Jason Ede, received his politically-damaging treasure in record time thanks to Tucker?s inability to stay ?politically neutral?, and proceeded to lambast the Labour Party alongside the Government who gleefully kept their hands ?clean? of the entire affair.

Braunias has a new book, and I’m in it, but the cheap bastard never sent me one

Steve Braunias is a good bastard, for a pinko scumbag I really like the guy.

I’ve probably ruined his lefty credentials now, but hey…who cares.

The other night he launched his book called?Madmen: Inside the weirdest election campaign ever.

I had to laugh at the name of his publisher, Steve obviously got his inspiration for the name from my good friend Brian Edwards.

God knows where you can buy the book, but if you track it down enjoy the read…the cheap bastard didn’t even send me one despite the fact I’m in it!

I emailed Braunias too…which he loosely outlined in a blog post.Madmen

Following last night’s wildly successful book launch at the Auckland Central Library for Madmen: Inside the Weirdest Election Campaign Ever – 100 people in attendance, including Cactus Kate, Guyon Espiner, a homeless man in a top hat, Ant Timpson, Shayne Carter, two elderly people in advanced stages of dementia, Deborah Hill-Cone, Karl Puschmann, a man who?displayed a dozen pieces of paper which he had thrown coffee onto, waited til the stains dried, and presented them as art, Gary Steel, Shayne Currie, Toby Manhire, Miriamo Kamo and her adorable three-year-old daughter, etc? – I came home to find an email from Whale Oil.

Actually, just to correct Steve and look for Nicky Hager, Cactus Kate?went along. ?Braunias confronted her at the entrance?and said he didn’t invite her to which she replied “we often get what we don’t ask for” and proceed to sashay in the door to find the bar. ?Nicky was nowhere in sight.

That is when all hell broke loose. ?? Read more »

I might be the ‘most toxic blogger in the land’ but I can’t be ignored

Apparently, according to the Dominion Post?editorial writer I have a new title. The “most toxic blogger in the land“.

The report says Jason Ede, a special adviser in John Key’s office, told Slater – the most toxic blogger in the land – about the SIS report on Goff and even prepared a draft blog for him about it.

Why do work when there are others who will do it for you.

I did a review of Question time and the Urgent debate and searched for my name.

Q1: Mentioned 13 times by Russel Norman.

Q3: Mentioned 8 times by Andrew Little. The site mentioned once.

Q5: Mentioned by Phil Goff 10 times.

Q7: Mentioned 4 times, not by Winston Peters I might add but by Megan Woods. ? Read more »

The only sorry Phil Goff deserves

It is now past 1000 so I can now speak about the SIS inquiry.

The time embargo didn’t stop Phil Goff shamelessly leaking to media yesterday and creating a storm and headlines ahead of the release.

I didn’t speak to media because I wasn’t allowed to. And today I won’t speak to media because I don’t have to.

But essentially the report finds that The PMs department colluded with me to ask an OIA that proved that Phil Goff lied about being briefed. Along the way the head of the SIS Dr. Warren Tucker got a bit political.

My response?

So bloody what!

None of this would have happened had Phil Goff told the truth when asked if he was briefed.

I am completely entitled as a citizen and voter to ask an OIA, and I did.

What is outrageous is that Phil Goff tried to stop the OIA release, interfere in a legitimate OIA request, all because he might get embarrassed. It is he who should be apologising. ?? Read more »

Of course National’s politics are dirty. Who is Key trying to kid?

eqw

Where the hell is Key going with this? ? Does he pretend the book doesn’t exist? ? Does he pretend that Ede wasn’t working with a wide range of people, including bloggers?

That can’t be dirty then?

Prime Minister John Key says he has seen no evidence his staff behaved unprofessionally as he continued to face questions about his links to Cameron Slater.

During Question Time in Parliament today, three of the 12 primary questions were related to events detailed in Nicky Hager’s book Dirty Politics. Read more »

Michael Bassett on Dirty Politics

dr_michael_bassett_on_housing_affordability_1963419593

Michael Bassett is one of the smartest men in New Zealand politics.

This is what he has to say on ‘Dirty Politics.

Reading the New Zealand Herald and watching Parliament this week, one could be forgiven for thinking that the 2014 election hadn?t yet taken place. Left-leaning editorial writers and opposition parliamentarians have been busy re-hashing stories that grabbed them during the election campaign as though the voters hadn?t yet passed judgment. It?s worth reminding these people; an election occurred on 20 September, and they lost. The people have spoken. Voters told them that they had weighed up Nicky Hager?s ?Dirty Politics? amongst other things and decided his book was either irrelevant to the current state of things, or was a pile of crap. ?Dirty Politics? is a corpse, and there?s little sense now trying to resurrect it.
Why would these journalists and lefties, too many of whom are one and the same, want to revive Hager? A few, I guess, want something to keep bashing National with. They are angry at the election outcome. I keep being surprised at how many people believed until the numbers went up that a left coalition was still on the cards. Others possibly believe in St Nicky, and admire his chutzpah in using stolen emails for pecuniary gain. That, they seem to think, is ?investigative journalism? at its finest.

It wasn’t and it will eventually be revealed for the large criminal political conspiracy that it was. Then the media will have a choice to make, and watching them make that choice will be delicious.

There will be others again, many of them young or na?ve in the extreme, who actually believe Hager?s story. They have so little understanding of political processes in New Zealand or anywhere else that they think there was something new and especially sordid about Jason Ede acting as a conduit to bloggers, passing information, and discussing tactics designed to put National in a good light. Some won?t know about the methods used by the Labour government while Helen Clark was in office 1999-2008, when press releases and exaggerated criticism of opponents were filtered to ?The Standard?, Labour?s electronic broadsheet. Nor will they know about the priming done by cabinet minister Ruth Dyson each morning of her email tree with sleaze that the government wanted to be widely disseminated. The Prime Minister knew all about it. I found out about it: some of Dyson?s stuff was inadvertently sent to me! Some journalists won?t know that throughout her career Helen Clark had a list of journalists she?d ring to exchange gossip. Sometimes she would only hint, other times she?d tell the person on the other end of the phone about what she planned to do to some on her own side who had incurred her wrath. Occasionally she?d plant an idea that the journalist would be encouraged to follow up, hopefully with devastating consequences. A few people in today?s press gallery were involved and are currently keeping their heads down. If John Key rang Cameron Slater in any capacity, what?s the difference? The Herald?s editor might like to tell us?

The most powerful man in New Zealand Politics according to Martin Martyn Bradbury.

Super Politics Guy

Super Politics Guy

Just how powerful is this man that Martin Martyn Bradbury can’t stop blogging about?

Apparently he is incredibly powerful and can control government organisations and individuals? as well as the MSM.

According to Bradbury he is Super Politics Guy, able to leap two story OIA requests in a single bound. When he snaps his powerful fingers things happen and people get rinsed.

Here is a selection of quotes from a number of different posts written by Bradbury about Super Politics Guy.

He can control the Police:

Which begs the question, did a friendly cop who likes ‘ Super Politics Guy ‘ decide the hard drive wasn?t stolen…

While we are on that, could we ask again why ‘ Super Politics Guy ‘ had his complaint against Hager actioned within 36 days when Don Brash couldn?t get his actioned after a year?

Super Politics Guy ‘ on the other hand has an investigative journalist?s house raided within 36 days of making his complaint.

I. Dont. Understand.

?’ Super Politics Guy ‘ makes a complaint to the NZ Police that his emails were hacked and stolen on August 28th. By October 2nd, the NZ Police had 5 Officers search Nicky Hager?s house for 10 hours. That?s 36 days.

That?s unbelievable isn?t it?

Super Politics Guy ‘ whom the PM calls regularly and describes as ?colourful?, gets his complaint actioned within 36 days with a 5 cop, 10 hour search. Don Brash, the leader of the Opposition at the time, gets nothing after a year.

The Labour Party made a formal complaint regarding the allegations in Dirty Politics on the 1st of September, the Greens made a complaint on the 14th of August, yet it is ‘ Super politics Guy’s ‘ complaint made on August 28th that has had priority. Whose interests are the NZ Police serving here?

He can control the MSM:

…the mainstream media. Their slavish, uncritical devotion to Key for 6 years has been caught out by their deep involvement with ‘ Super Politics Guy

In short, while the compromised mainstream media who have empowered? ‘ Super Politics Guy ‘ as much as Key has tries to claim Key will win by a 50% landslide

It?s incredible that TV3?s 3rd Degree had the money and resources to use ‘ Super Politics Guy ‘ as a source again to track down 3 of Kim Dotcom?s former workers in the Philippines for the shock horror revelation that he may have called NZers ?cheap arsed farmers? once and yet not one single member of the entire NZ news media can seem to track down and interview Jason Ede…

They don?t want to investigate Dirty Politics any longer because most of them are all complicit in helping and enabling

Super Politics Guy ‘ and?want that conveniently forgotten.

Look at this picture?

Chart showing Super Politics Guy at the centre of all things Political

Chart showing Super Politics Guy at the centre of all things Political

?what?s missing? Conveniently all the mainstream media contacts Super Politics Guy ‘ fed.

I certainly believe that there are many in the mainstream media who are complicit with ‘ Super Politics Guy ‘ in progressing the Dirty Politics agenda of demonising anyone they see as a threat

Every day I have rushed to read the paper to see if a breaking story on the Ede-‘ Super Politics Guy ‘ emails had broken yet. They haven?t. Day after day, where are these emails? We know Rawshark sent the emails to David Fisher and Matt Nippert, yet nothing

He can control the Labour Party:

Both of ‘Super Politics Guy?s‘ mates leading the Labour Party?

That?s just too depressing to even consider.

So let?s give the sleepy hobbits what they want, uncomplicated boiled meat and 3 vege politics led by ‘Super Politics Guy’s ‘ mate, Stuart Nash as leader.

The graceless win of ‘ Super Politics Guy?s ‘ mate in the North, Kelvin Davis is difficult to swallow. Here ‘ Super Politics Guy?s ‘ mate in the North is shitting on Hone Harawira by calling Hone all steam, no hangi as Kelvin rubs his ganged up win into Hone?s face.

He can control the election result:

Can Labour be saved? Why ‘ Super Politics Guy ‘ & National won and why we need a new media

So why did ‘ Super Politics Guy ‘ and National win such a thundering victory?

He controls the SIS and the GCSB:

Did the SIS/GCSB just take down @whaledump from Twitter?

As Whaledump gets close to releasing the ‘ Super Politics Guy ‘/Ede emails, the deep State has moved to shut down what is now being seen as a national security issue.

He controls the National Party and John Key:

Working-for-Whale-Oil2

The farce whitewash that Key is trying to push through here for the inquiry into Judith Collins role in a hit on the SFO should enrage any NZer, regardless of how they vote.

Super Politics Guy ‘ won?t be forced to appear, it?s happening after the election and the scope is as tiny as Key can make it.

It?s a farce, a whitewash, a joke.

How could ‘ Super Politics Guy ‘ have known what was in OIA request before he got it?

Ede gets a soft place to land

I’m not sure why this is even a story, but Vernon Small is trying to make something out of the fact that Jason Ede now has a job in the private sector with people that are pro-National and have direct National party links.

This is illegal? ?No.

Is it immoral? ?No.

Is it a ‘bad look’? ?No.

So what the hell is Small’s point here?

National’s former “black ops” specialist Jason Ede has resurfaced working for a listed telecommunications company with strong personal links to senior National Party figures.

Teamtalk managing director David Ware confirmed Ede, a central figure in Nicky Hager’s book Dirty Politics, had been hired as a contractor, but denied any political influence in the move.

“We don’t do politics. We sell telecommunications services,” Ware said. “I am perfectly comfortable using him. I think he’s a great guy.”

Ware’s wife Belinda Milnes is an adviser to Social Housing Minister Paula Bennett, having quit this week as Families Commissioner, and her sister is Communications Minister Amy Adams. Read more »
