Let’s see what the drama is all about

Southland schools are struggling with new Novopay problems, prompting some to suggest it might finally be time to ditch the plagued system.

The Government has now pledged $43 million to fix Novopay glitches, which have been frequent since the payroll system was introduced in 2012.

Achtung! Marlene gets her marching orders

Lauren Hayes at Stuff is running a real tear jerker of a story today about a poor principal that is fighting a mean and nasty commissioner who is trying to force her out of her job.

Salford School principal Marlene Campbell is vowing to fight after being sacked by the school’s government-appointed commissioner.

Commissioner Nicola Hornsey yesterday confirmed she had dismissed Ms Campbell from her employment at Salford School in Invercargill.

He had not worked with her to identify and resolve the issues raised by a small group of staff and ex-staff, and had undermined her at every opportunity, she said.
