Media Bias

Crybaby MSM

Stuff regurgitates yet another Washington Post hit piece on the greatest American President since Ronald Reagan: Quote.

Trump labelled the news media “the enemy of the American people” a month after taking the oath of office. In the year that followed, a CNN analysis concluded, he used the word “fake” – as in “fake news,” “fake stories,” “fake media” or “fake polls” – more than 400 times. He once fumed, the New York Times reported, because a TV on Air Force One was tuned to CNN.End of quote.

Gosh, how outrageous. Still, I remember just before Trump was elected our very own major left-wing newspaper plastering “America don’t do it!” on their front page. And that’s a Kiwi newspaper. I don’t have to tell you what the U.S newspapers were like. What goes around comes around. Quote.

Guns, statistics and lies

Every time a Muslim terrorist shoots, stabs, bombs or runs over Americans, the default response is, “Let’s not jump to any conclusions”. That’s swiftly followed by media spin pieces claiming that the majority of terrorist attacks are really committed by white male Republicans and the Amish based on math so bad that even the world’s crookedest bookie wouldn’t go near it. And anyone who argues that the pattern of Islamic terror attacks is a call for common sense migration reform is regarded as a racist and a coward who wants to destroy the Constitution by blowing a handful of attacks out of proportion.

(And do you know how many people are hit by lightning or stung by killer bees every year.)

Yet every time there’s a big storm it’s proof that man-made global warming is real.

Muslim “Jenna” is a Barbie lookalike

When Khawlah Noman claimed a man in his 20s twice tried to cut her hijab that quickly became a national story in Canada. Toronto mayor John Tory and Ontario premier Kathleen Wynne weighed in on the case, and Prime Minister Justin Trudeau proclaimed that in an “open and welcoming country” like Canada “incidents like this cannot be tolerated.”

Trouble is, according to police the incident “did not happen” but after revelations of the hoax the outraged politicians were little in evidence. Those who find this troubling might contrast other attacks that did not have an existential problem.

NZ Media bias between these two stories couldn’t be any more blatant

Can you spot the difference?

Two fabulously wealthy men.

Both want to become New Zealand citizens.

Look at how differently they are treated by both Newshub and the NZ Herald.

One thing the media won’t tell you about Obama

President Obama left the White House, the mainstream press was falling over itself proclaiming how popular he was.

“Obama leaving office on a very high note,” was a typical headline.

Yet despite the media’s fixation with polls, the press completely buried one of the more newsworthy poll findings — a Gallup report that came out last Friday, which took a final look at the President Obama’s popularity over his eight years in office.

As much at home writing editorials as being the subject of them, Cam has won awards, including the Canon Media Award for his work on the Len Brown/Bevan Chuang story. When he’s not creating the news, he tends to be in it, with protagonists using the courts, media and social media to deliver financial as well as death threats.

They say that news is something that someone, somewhere, wants kept quiet. Cam Slater doesn’t do quiet and, as a result, he is a polarising, controversial but highly effective journalist who takes no prisoners.

So. The media are impartial and tell both sides of the story?

Of course, we have found out that Thiel was granted residence in 2006 under a Labour government.  Since then, he’s just done what people do.  Live, work, play.  And Mr Thiel would have remained a fairly unknown person had Donald Trump not put him on the media’s radar.

Suddenly, all the decent, trained and skilled went for “balanced reporting”.   No… that can’t be right. Read more »

Katie Hopkins calls CNN the Clinton News network

I thought for a second that Katie Hopkins was going to make the interviewer cry when she called CNN the Clinton news network but she is not the first to accuse CNN of a serious political bias. Bias is also alleged in an article with the headline These 7 CNN Tweets Show That They’re The Clinton News Network.

CNN has been subject to allegations of attempting to influence viewers, as opposed to an unbiased approach to political journalism.

On media choosing the winner of an election

Dotcom failed.  And amusingly he’s calling the media corrupt for having caused this loss.  But similar media-driven support is seen for Hillary Clinton and against Trump.

In Auckland, the NZ Herald picked Phil Goff as its candidate from the get-go.  This is how media run a “fair and balanced” piece on mayoral candidates.

Hamas are restricting the Press despite the MSM’s Pro-Palestine bias

Hamas really are an ungrateful lot. Foreign journalists could not be more cooperative.  Already predisposed to seeing Palestine as the victim and Israel as the aggressor the articles on the conflict seem to be always biased in Hamas’s favour. When Hamas store weapons and fire rockets at Israel from inside hospitals, schools, and mosques the press dutifully report that the terrible Israelis attacked hospitals, schools, and mosques which  are not legitimate military targets.  When Hamas damages with rockets an Israeli power station  that supplies power to both Israel and Palestine, the media dutifully report that the terrible Israelis have cut off power to Palestine.

Despite this Palestine friendly coverage, Hamas is restricting the work of foreign journalists in the Gaza Strip.

Amazing cancer cure but BBC won’t say where it came from

screenshot-whaleoil.co.nz

Imagine an article about an amazing cancer drug that has cured 58% of terminally ill patients. A drug cocktail so amazing and effective that the United Kingdom has approved it in record time in order to make it available for their National Health Service. Now imagine an article about it written for the BBC that tells us everything except who is actually responsible for this amazing breakthrough in cancer research. Here is the article. As you can see no mention at all is made of where the cure came from.

Given the worldwide media bias that you know of, which country to you think this cure came from?
