Margaux Hemingway

Margaux Hemingway seemed to have it all, yet a drug overdose led the actress to an untimely death.

She was six feet tall in her bare feet—five foot twelve, she’d say—with such a remarkable face and such a radiant presence and such an alluring name that when she walked into a room, conversation left it. If she shook your hand, you might think your wrist was going to snap. If she knew you well enough she might call you “boopsie” and haul you off on a hike, or a trip to India; of course, with her long legs came great lungs, and you didn’t hike with her, you gasped for breath behind her. When she laughed, it came out big and childlike and innocent. Her looks were so distinctive that when she went to a club and left her purse at home, she could reassure an exasperated companion, “But I don’t need any I.D. I have my eyebrows.”

She started right at the top with the first million-dollar contract ever awarded a model. She wasn’t even out of high school. She asked for none of it. She was just a wide-eyed bronco-riding speed-skiing adventure-loving kid from Idaho who was spotted by Errol Wetson, an entrepreneur who became her first husband, who knew someone who knew people. “No one,” her father said, “could take a bad picture of her.”

Israel punches above its weight in so many ways

There are those who build and contribute to mankind and there are those who destroy.

ISIS's contibution to mankind. Destruction. Islam has a long 1400 year history of burning and destroying the libraries and museums of the countries it invades.

ISIS’s contribution to mankind.
Destruction.

Islam has a long 1400 year history of burning and destroying the libraries and museums of the countries it invades. Above is but one recent example. Islam dominates and destroys. One of the things that has always stuck in my mind is what happened when Israel withdrew and handed over land to the Palestinians. The land had been developed and had wonderful technology and buildings that could benefit the new occupiers yet the first thing they did when they took ownership was to tear down and destroy everything because it had been created by Israel.

Israel on the other hand makes lemonade when life gives it lemons. They work out how to farm the desert. They don’t just benefit themselves they create technologies that can benefit the world. The ReWalk is but one example.

Imagine giving a paraplegic back the ability to walk again.

Imagine that the man who created the technology is a quadriplegic.

Now imagine that the scientist who designed  this amazing technology is from Israel, the country that does so much with so little.

Invented by the Israeli entrepreneur, Dr. Amit Goffer, who became a quadriplegic in 1998, and manufactured by ARGO Medical Technologies, ReWalk™

Taking points to help you when discussing Islam with others

I am skilled in the art of persuasion. I use analogies a lot as they can be used effectively to illustrate a point and are easy to understand. An analogy is a comparison in which an idea or a thing is compared to another thing that is quite different from it. It aims at explaining that idea or thing by comparing it to something that is familiar.

Here are two talking points that can be explained using an analogy.

  • To help keep the Charlie Hebdo cartoonists safe, all Main stream media  should immediately re-publish the cartoons.

Analogy: The school bully is big and strong and he likes to beat up kids who wear glasses. One day the entire student body turns up wearing glasses. The bully no longer has a clear target. He also now knows that all the students are standing in solidarity with the kids who genuinely need glasses. This is intimidating as he realises that all the students are against his actions. He can no longer count on the others turning a blind eye to his actions.d0f811fbd96b4a3da862d79522cec602

I am not a sports fan but I do admire guts and determination. I especially admire those who succeed despite the odds being against them. My article today is about this kind of person. I learned about Rose through a mutual friend and have been following her career for 3 years now with interest.

Face of the day

Internet sensation Jeremy Meeks

This is the face of Jeremy Meeks a recent internet sensation. His Mug shot has sent thousands of women in a spin as they drool over his model like looks.

The chiseled face and steely baby blue eyes made convicted felon Jeremy Meeks an overnight celebrity.

A mugshot of Meeks, 30, made him an Internet sensation and stirred a collective swoon nationwide, after it was posted to social media.

Even in jail, Meeks has apparently had offers from modeling agencies and reality television shows.

Meeks is still in the San Joaquin County Jail. He was arraigned Friday on counts related to firearm possession, gang membership, and probation violation after being stopped by authorities in Stockton, California, during a gang sweep, police said.
