National Socialist German Workers Party

Although Hitler was a Chancellor, he didn’t have as much power. The Communist party was still a threat. Then a key event happened. The Reichstag – German Parliament – was burned a few months after Hitler came to the power and the blame was assigned to the Communists. Following the burning, President Hindenburg clamped down the Communists and repressive measures were taken on all other political parties.

How Adolf Hitler Came to Power

The story of why Hitler came to power is about the reasons why the German people lost their senses and allowed a vicious madman to come to power.?Hitler was a brilliant speaker, and his eyes had a peculiar power over people.???He was a good organiser and politician. He was a driven, unstable man, who believed that he had been called by God to become dictator of Germany and rule the world. This kept him going when other people might have given up. His self-belief persuaded people to believe in him.

Hitler’s rise to power was based upon long-term factors – resentment in the German people, the weakness of the Weimar system – which he exploited through propaganda (paid for by his rich, Communist-fearing backers), the terror of his stormtroopers, and the brilliance of his speeches.

During the ‘roaring twenties’ Germans ignored this vicious little man with his programme of hatred.?? But when the Great Depression ruined their lives, they voted for him in increasing numbers.?? Needing support, and thinking he could control Hitler, President Hindenburg made the mistake in January 1933 of giving Hitler the post of Chancellor.

The world’s most famous socialist

HitlerSocialist

Students of history flinch when left-wingers refer to Hitler as being right-wing because anyone who knows their history knows that Hitler and his ?party were socialists. His party was called the?National Socialist German Workers’ Party. The parallels between his policies and the policies of modern-day left-wing parties are obvious. When lefties call conservatives fascists they conveniently overlook the fact that Hitler was a fascist and his brand of socialism was the nanny state on steroids. Hitler is a perfect example of what happens when a socialist leader becomes a dictator.

A gripping true story of Socialism in action

People forget that Hitler’s party was the?National Socialist German Workers? Party. His party was a true socialist party. It provided free healthcare, equal rights for women, employment, soup kitchens for the poor and hungry, law and order and nationalised secular education. Sunday became National Youth day and the youth were given two hours of political indoctrination every week and then were rewarded with sports for the rest of the day.It was compulsory and parents were punished if they did not send their children.

Later it became compulsory for young men and women to work in the labor corps for one year. With the mothers out working, the state took over childcare. Tax rates went up to 80% of income.Child care and education were free.High Schools were taken over by the government and agencies were created to monitor business including farmers. The State was controlling everything. Free enterprise was abolished.

Disabled adults were taken away from their families by the government on a pretext and the families were then informed that they had all died. Next came gun registration which was quickly followed by the government demanding that gun owners all surrender their guns to the state.

?By this time there was no freedom of speech. Anyone who spoke out against the government was taken away. It only took five years for Socialism to transform into?Totalitarianism.

I love history because I choose to learn from it. Can you see any of the above happening right now in the West? I can see the appeal. Being looked after by the State sounds great but when you hand over control for your life to a government, you are handing over your freedom.
