As most of you already know I am on Gab now as @spanishbride and I only visit twitter to encourage others to jump ship as I have. Gab seems to have timed its entrance into the world of social media brilliantly.Twitter is failing and no one wants to buy it while Gab is growing rapidly. Twitter in a last ditch attempt to save its failing brand is attempting to copy the success of Gab by?investigating the feature that sets Gab apart from all other social media. The ability to self-censor.

Dallas, Texas Today at Gab AI Inc, a people first pro-free speech social network, we were particularly amused to discover that our competitor at Twitter is tinkering around with the concept of user-controlled self-censorship???a tool that has been the staple of our platform, since its inception from the beginning of August.

The Western Double Standard: Protect Islam Ridicule Christianity

1974

One of the above costumes was removed from Amazon because of complaints about it. Amazon was accused of?using “a religious garment for commercial purposes.” A religious garment being used as a costume was considered offensive by the complainants. The wrath of a higher deity was even mentioned by those opposing the costume. Amazon removed the costume using the excuse that it didn’t follow their selling guidelines but they left the other costume for sale so clearly they were lying about the real reason why it was removed.

The world’s biggest shopping portal, Amazon, sells many Halloween costumes. One of the novelties in 2016 has been the “Sexy Burka”

…The commercial colossus of Jeff Bezos removed the item from the website, after Amazon had been swamped with accusations of “racism”, “Islamophobia,” of marketing an Islamic garment with the white face of a model and using “a religious garment for commercial purposes”. “You are disgusting, my culture is not your costume”, wrote many users of the Islamic faith. Others used a less adorable tone: “Whoever you are, you should fear Allah. This is not a joke.”

A spokesman for Amazon promptly responded: “All Marketplace sellers must follow our selling guidelines and those who don’t will be subject to action including potential removal of their account. The product in question is no longer available”.

So that Halloween parody of the global symbol of female oppression has been censored.

Twitter recently banned Milo Yianoppolous, an extremely entertaining and witty conservative libertarian with thousands of followers including myself. I am now on the waiting list for Gab and look forward to once again following Milo.

So what is Gab and how does it differ from twitter?

A Whaleoil reader, we’ll call Paul, writes

I am a Subscriber to your Blog, and as such I appreciate your?comments, fact finding and your opinions.

The whole issue is well put together and informative and sometimes fun?to read.

However, increasingly I find that I am offended by the silly comments?and messages left by some of the readers….most of whom seem to have?personal opinions, but are often expressed in an offensive and?childish manner.

I really feel that they detract from your publication.

Have you ever thought about “reining them in a little” as it were? ? Read more »
