The first of what one hopes is a long march through the bureaucracy

Fat, busyboy, beachball Cindy Kiro is stepping down and not a tear will be shed at her departure.

Now to start the long march through the civil service.

Top of my list would be Barry Matthews who must surely be close to expiring the confidence of his minister.

Second on my list is Howard Broad, after the unfortunate motorway incident on Friday and a week of coppers letting prisoners go the tumbril must surely be drawn up in front of his office.

One for commonsense over Labour lackey

Broadcast watchdog dismisses complaint against Laws – National – NZ Herald News

Radio Live is hailing a Broadcasting Standards Authority decision not to uphold a complaint against it by Children’s Commissioner Cindy Kiro as a “real fillip for freedom of speech”.

Cindy Kiro is a fat, ugly, meddling control freak who objected to Michael Laws’ giving her office stick over a stupid report into child poverty. In the BSA decision we finally have proof that Michael Laws is unbalanced 😉 In fact the BSA went out of its way to point out that listeners would not expect a range of balanced views for Laws’ talkback show. heh. Basically Cindy Kiro threw a tanty and used her office, the finances of her office to try to strong-arm a talkback station. She failed. Now whoever is her m inister should call her in and give her a right good Borising.

Is this what we expect from our Civil Servants?

I received this by email. Kere Menzies sent in this Letter to the Editor in the Southland Times

The Children?s Commissioner Cindy Kiro has been fairly scathing in her remarks regarding the New Zealand-based organisation Family First.

It is fairly ironic that she finds fault when organisations such as this are doing the job she is paid for ? being a voice for New Zealand families and children.

Whilst she has been very vocal when attacking these groups, she is mysteriously quiet on the Trevor Mallard incident during the ?It?s Never OK? Violence Campaign funded by the Government, very quiet when the prostitution report from South Auckland was released earlier this year highlighting the number of young teenagers prostituting themselves, silent when police refused to prosecute a 21-year-old who got a 13-year-old pregnant (after starting the relationship when she was 11), non-existent for the recent cancelling of the sentence for a woman who pleaded guilty to infanticide and, the worst yet, not even interested over the ultimate child abuse of abortion.

Like the Children?s Commission, Cindy Kiro is a waste of space and good taxpayers? money. This is the year for change.

Cindy Kiro responded thus;

This letter appears to be part of a campaign against my office by extremist religious political lobby group Family First as it quotes liberally from the most recent Family First newsletter. For this reason I question the letter?s originality and validity.

As Children?s Commissioner I speak out wherever I see the safety and wellbeing of children is being jeopardised.

Some of the instances referred to in this letter, I was, in fact, the first to speak out on, for example, the 21-year-old who got a 13-year-old pregnant.

I don?t think even my detractors could ever say I am mysteriously quiet when it comes to matters of child welfare.

I am tired of extremist religious lobby groups such as Family First using children as a political football to push their wider political agenda

This reply from Kiro is disgusting and not the standard of behaviour we expect from our civil servants. So opinions are not to be tolerated if they appear similar to Family First huh? The Government first regulated freedom of speech and now they are regulating through the bully boy civil servants opinion. It is ok for the Prime Ministers “husband” to write letters but not ok for someone who has read a Family First pamphlet.

They're coming for your choooldrin

Antisocial test for children backed – 25 Jan 2008 – NZ Herald: New Zealand National news

Cindy Kiro, remember her, she is the one that wants a file on every child has backed provisions for testing for antisocial behaviour and then having the “chosen” choooldrin re-educated.

Except she and the inventors of this intervention in parenting call it by different names. They use things like “measures to vet young children for targeted help” and “going to tackle the problem early to stop it escalating into something that will definitely have a serious intervention later on.” and “identify children who were at risk of developing severe behaviour problems”

All that means is that schools and the government are going to tag children for intervention which really means taking your kids away and re-educating them.

They say they will only concentrate on abnormal behaviour, not typical tantrums or selfish behaviour, would be targeted. So, just to extend the thinking on that does that include homosexual behaviour, most people would class that as abnormal behaviour, what about Sikh children who wear little bobbles on their head, surely that is abnormal, Exclusive Brethren girls wear scarves covering their head, more abnormal behaviour. In South Auckland not carrying a knife to school, whilst also stupid, is also considered abnormal behaviour…….what about telling the school that Daddy gave you a kiss goodnight…..that surely is abhorrent behaviour, I mean what on earth is a father ( a potential rapist) doing alone in the bedroom of his children!!! Abnormal behaviour…..good god, that child is being corrupted, he/she should be in a single parent family at the very least…mark them down for intervention.

The Socialists advance, they want your children

Mandatory screening of every infant proposed – 08 Sep 2007 – NZ Herald: New Zealand National news

Cindy Kiro, the arch socialist wants your children.
The Children’s Commissioner is proposing mandatory screening of every baby’s home life in a bid to halve New Zealand’s high child murder rate.

Cindy Kiro wants every newborn baby’s parents or caregivers to nominate an authorised provider to assess their family’s progress through home visits.

Those who refused to take part would be referred to welfare authorities.
She can get fucked. I would not let the state near my kids in a million years.
