Susan Boyle

What a waste of money

Public arts and culture funding to the tune of $1.6 million will partly pay for the New Zealand’s Got Talent reality television series.

Developed by Simon Cowell, the series is famous for discovering unlikely star Susan Boyle in the British series. It will screen on TV One.

Government agency New Zealand On Air said its support was a smart use of the public purse.

Chief executive Jane Wrightson said it was a “wonderful opportunity for many types of New Zealand performers to entertain a nationwide audience”.

Oh great we are going to search for our very own Susan Boyle. Give me?strength.

If it was such a good idea a commercial station would have purchased the rights and made money from it.

Just like gay doesn’t mean homosexual

Comedians can say ‘mong’ on TV now in the UK.

Media regulator Ofcom has rejected three complaints about comedian Ricky Gervais’s use of the word “mong” during his Channel 4 show Science.

Speaking about Britain’s Got Talent singer Susan Boyle in October, he said :”She would not be where she is today if it wasn’t for the fact that she looked like such a ******* mong.”

Mong is a slang term used to refer to people with Down’s Syndrome.

It is derived from the word “mongrel.”

He went on: “When she first came on the telly, I went: ‘Is that a mong?’

“I don’t mean she has Down’s Syndrome, by the way. No, no! That would be offensive. That word doesn’t mean that any more.”

Xtra facing lawsuit

I wonder if the stupid Xtra-Ordinaries can get out of this one.

More like they will be shown for what Xtra really is an ordinary, very ordinary ISP.

Good luck fellas, hope you win.
