Ted Nugent

Aporkalypse 2013: The Silence of the Hams

I’ve always admired Ted Nugent, not just for his no nonsense approach to US politics, but the man loves his hunting too. Fully automatic weapons from a helicopter sounds like a fun way to dispatch pests.

Ted Nugent: ?Dope-smoking gangsta wannabe? Trayvon Martin ?got justice? [VIDEO]

Ted Nugent isn’t one to mince words, and he sure doesn’t hold back on commenting on the Geroge Zimmerman case.

Rocker-turned-conservative commentator Ted Nugent is continuing to push his assertion that last month?s ?not guilty? verdict in the George Zimmerman murder trial was the correct one, and that Zimmerman is still a victim in the wake of Trayvon Martin?s death.

In an interview that aired on Saturday with Joe Pags on the syndicated program ?The Weekend?, Nugent caught the attention?of some left-wing storefronts?when he made the suggestion in their view that Martin had gotten what he deserved.? Read more »

Great sledge

Frank Rich delivers a lengthy dissection of the problems facing the GOP in rebuilding but starts off with this excellent sledge, one which Leighton Smith will appreciate.

It?s gotten so gloomy that at the?annual House Republican retreat?just before Inauguration Day in January, the motivational speakers included the executive who turned around Domino?s Pizza and the first blind man to reach the top of Mount Everest. Were the GOP a television network, it would be fifth-place NBC, falling not only behind its traditional competitors but Univision.? Read more »

Whale Week What Was

682zoomWe started our Saturday by paying our respects to?Norman Schwarzkopf Jr., the hard-charging US Army general whose forces smashed the Iraqi army in the 1991 Gulf War. ?He died aged 78. ?At The Standard 2012 Worst Political Blog Mike Smith is told some home truths about long term grass-roots Labour families heading for the Greens. ?A quick vid on how to put out a boat fire the Kiwi way is next, followed by a vote for Best Minister. ?The winner, at 52%, is Judith Collins. ?The Whale Week That Was summarised all the stories this blog covered in the previous seven days. ?A quite active Saturday Debate (for the time of year especially) led a post calling for nominations for Best Political Blog. ?Those who see WOBH as any sort of threat to them (and those that don’t too), should take heed of this Malcolm Tucker quote: “marshal all the media forces of Darkness to hound them to an assisted suicide”.? A CNN piece showing Teachers in Utah taking a class on gun use shows some common sense around the gun debate. ?A reader has taken yesterday’s US Fiscal Cliff graphic and created one for New Zealand – great work. ?As Cameron Slater predicted from the outset, the Aussie Hoax DJs will not face charges. ?The NZ Herald continues to amuse – this time a car crashed into a poll. ?The blog then introduces us to two sexy taxidermists showing you don’t have to look like a front row forward to deal with dead animals. ?And you’d think we’re picking on an incompetent NZ Herald, and you would be right. ?This time they have Jesse Ryder beating himself at Eden Park in Wellington. ?Then a hilarious story about a Queensland woman who fell into the longdrop and was there for two hours before being discovered by her husband. ? Turns out that during the Falklands War the French tried to send missiles to Argentinia behind Margaret Thatcher‘s back. ?Commerce first eh? ?The last post of the day highlights a report of a man holding up a Countdown Supermarket with a hammer. ?Our readers get fired up about the idea of hammer banning.

Idiots Advocate: Piers Morgan F*cks Up Another Gun Control Debate

2 days ago I posted a story about the CNN’s pommy agitator Piers Morgan and his train wreck of an interview with?executive director?of?Gun Owners of America?Larry Pratt. You have to hand it to him, at least the guy has consistency. Unfortunately for Morgan the good points end there, showing himself as an ill informed gun control spokesman (the idiots advocate -says Ted Nugent) in a foreign country that he doesn’t understand instead of being an impartial and balanced interviewer. Last year Morgan interviewed Ted Nugent, but had a much harder time talking him down as he did with Larry Pratt, getting shut down point by point. It was simple: Read more »

Things America Gets Right

? American Hunter

A CEO has to apologise for pissing off the hunting lobby.

You must have been in a deep, Rip Van Winkle-esque sleep if you haven’t heard the news?several photographs taken while Eric Trump and Donald Trump Jr. were on African safari two years ago have?started a media frenzy, highlighting the depth of divide between hunters and non-hunters.

After viewing the photos, Marcus Lemonis, CEO of Camping World?an RV and camping supply company and former advertiser of Donald Trump’s popular television show “Celebrity Apprentice”?went on record to say?he was “disgusted” by the photographs. Other reports claimed the company would be pulling its sponsorship from the show.

Enter responsible hunters everywhere, expressing their outrage that a company that claims to “celebrate and honor all traditions of the outdoors” suddenly appeared to be anti-hunting.

On March 21, after consulting with representatives of the Professional Outdoor Media Association (POMA) as well as Ted Nugent, Lemonis, a non-hunter, reached out via a web press conference with members of the outdoor media to rectify his statements.
?I am deeply, deeply apologetic for any offensive behavior anyone believes I took part in,” said Lemonis. “My reaction came from a lack of education, from a lack of understanding and in no way was directed toward anyone in the hunting community … I am 100 percent in favor of legal hunting and fishing.”
