Boko Haram Islamic terror group kills 2000

The tough Islamists of Boko Haram, scared of getting shot at by real soldiers have killed 2000 in Nigeria, mostly women and children.

Hundreds of bodies ? too many to count ? remain strewn in the bush in Nigeria from an Islamic extremist attack that Amnesty International suggested Friday is the “deadliest massacre” in the history of Boko Haram.

Mike Omeri, the government spokesman on the insurgency, said fighting continued Friday for Baga, a town on the border with Chad where insurgents seized a key military base on Jan. 3 and attacked again on Wednesday.

“Security forces have responded rapidly, and have deployed significant military assets and conducted airstrikes against militant targets,” Omeri said in a statement.

Face of the day

Today’s Face of the day is a man of courage, a man who stood for freedom of expression, a man who persisted in the face of danger. His body guard was not able to save him or the others at his newspaper. I honour him, and them today and I challenge us all to not let their deaths be in vain. We too must be brave. We too must stand strong against this worldwide threat against the freedoms that we hold so dear.

Huh? What do they mean appears to show? I do not recall ever seeing that kind of qualifier before when the press have posted what turned out to be staged propaganda photos of? supposed killings by the Israelis.

These photos were taken by the? Islamic militants and it is the Islamic militants who are proudly crowing about the massacre so why the hesitation to accept them as factual?

It would make more sense given historical incidents of staged photos and video to question the photos if they were supplied by those killed in the images rather than those who claim to have both taken the photos and massacred the unarmed soldiers.

The Islamic militants who overran cities and towns in Iraq last week posted graphic photos that appeared to show their gunmen massacring scores of captured Iraqi soldiers, while the prime minister vowed to “liberate every inch” of captured territory.
